In most of the Indo Pacific the majority are more heavy and shells display a wide variety of colors. They are also smaller.

Harpa eat sea urchins. They emerge out of the sands to grab their prey and disappear in the sands within minutes, taking with them the sea urchin which they empty in their black “environment”: the inner world of sand.

Their way of life protects the shells from erosion or adhesions: there is little to do on Harp shells: they come all clean - sand blasted I should say.

This is the LARGEST HARPA MAJOR we got in 14 years and out of 657 shells handled.
