"THE FORMER VENTRICOSA, NOW CABRITI, BUT WANTS TO BE COSTATA
Indeed, older collectors will still use the name ventricosa. The change to cabriti came in the 1980’s and was a little violent for all of us.
This Harp is only common along the central east African coast, where fishermen occasionally take quantities. Among hundreds, one will find occasionally a piece developing as many ribs as a beautiful costata.
On the aesthetic level, such a shell is unbelievable beautiful as it combines the strong coloration of the cabriti with the magnificent multiple ribs of costata.
This combination puts the piece on a rarity level which is a multiple of costata and a big multiple of cabriti."
