c1933 RPPC SS New York Passenger Liner Signed by Captain? Real Photo PostcardHamburg-America Line. Bombed and sunk in 1945 after an air attack on Kiel; re-floated in 1947 but scrapped in 1949. I cannot read the signature; it may say Commadore, then reads SS New York and the year is from the 1930s. This is very possibly a captain's signature, or in this case a Commadore (commands multiple ships), but I cannot find any lists of captains to confirm or refute. Please make your own assessment.The card is a divided back so there would be no need to write on the front of the image in normal circumstances.Unposted
