Once in a lifetime pick-up, this is a data plate off the hoist which is stamped “USS Oklahoma” and dated “4/5/19”.

Built and commissioned in 1916, Oklahoma was sunk during the attack on Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941.

It was uprighted several weeks later and attempts made to fix the damage, but was eventually deemed not salvageable.

Ship was stripped of anything usable for the war effort, shortly after the war, was sold to a San Francisco scrap yard, but in a twist of fate, she sank somewhere in the Pacific while being towed to California.
