RARE OLD ITEM!! GREAT VINTAGE MAPS!!

This is USGS Bulletin 945-B, Chromite Deposits near San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo County, California. Published in 1945, there can’t be many of these around anymore. This publication consists of the 22-page book and ALL NINE OF THE ORIGINAL MAPS, two of which are foldout maps bound into the book, and the other seven of which are in a pocket in the back of the book. All are in excellent condition. Some of the maps are of specific mine workings. Chromite, serpentine, opaline silica, chalcedony, and magnesite have been found in these mines

This publication makes not only a great guide for the collector wanting to visit this area, but also a unique historical record of this district. This is a scarce publication on an interesting and historical mining area and it is in incredible condition given its age. There is little wear other than edge-wear to the cover and pages, slight wrinkling of some page corners and the cover, a little tearing of the back cover, and some fading and discoloration of a minor nature. Other than that it is in great shape. This is a scarce opportunity for the collector of California minerals, the historian, or anyone that wants to give the place a crack!
