Note reads:

"Best Wishes - Tony 2/19/71

Hope you like the tray- its made ofpalisander wood - which is also known as Brazilian Rosewood. The same used as for fine pianos"

Beautiful rare tray. What makes this one so special is it comes with a note attached on the back from the original giver from 1971! The only flaws I could see is a lightened area on the top (like a ring mark from a glass or bowl), it may need more conditioning oil there. See the photos 11 & 12 regarding. On the back, the original gifter taped the note to the back and when removed it lifted part of the finish off. I chose to just leave the note there as it brings the history to it. But if you remove the note you may have to sand and re oil that area to make it smooth again. See last photos.
