This is an original, white Braun ET 55pocket calculator, designed by Dieter Rams and Dietrich Lubs in the 1980's. It is a classic product of its era, designed by the great West German industrial designer, Dieter Rams.

It is the only Braun calculator permanently housed in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, and it is also famous because it was an inspiration to Apple's chief designer, Jonathan Paul Ive. That influence is evident in the iPhone's calculator app. The white color ET 55 is more rare than the black one, as it was produced in very small quantities.

This product is not a copy; it is the original ET55 produced in the 1980's.

In the 1980's, I purchased this calculator Brand New from a store in Georgetown, Washington, DC, near where I lived. I opened it from its box, tested it to make sure it worked, but I never used it. (At the time, I needed a calculator that could calculate inches and feet, so I did not have use for this one.)

Now, I am interested in selling this rare, white calculator. I recently purchased the batteries, and I tested it again. It works great.

It has its original, slide-in sleeve case. It has its original 6-language instruction booklet. The booklet is in the following languages: German, French, English, Italian, Dutch, and Danish. The booklet includes diagrams and specifications, and it explains how to use the calculator.

The calculator is in great cosmetic and working condition. Virtually scratch and wear free. No U.V fading of any kind. Very white and even. Print graphics are sharp and clear, with very shiny buttons. The protective sleeve cover did a very good job. Outer sleeve case has signs of handling, but mostly dirt built up on surface. No cracks or scratches. Instruction booklet has a couple tiny edge-tears. (SEE PICS)]
