Why Jesus and Christianity? Why the Bible?

Why not theQuran (or Koran) and Islam or the Hindu Vedas or any one of a myriad ofreligions? After all, in the UnitedStates “religious freedom” and “toleration” are politically correct –Right? Sure, but are they spiritually,correct? Jesus said, “I am theway, the truth and the life.No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 (NKJ) So, what makes Him right? How do we know the Bible is correct,accurate, and the Word of God? How do weknow that Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew) is Who He said He was, God in the flesh!John 8:58 . . . Prophecy, that’show! “Remember the formerthings of old, for I am God, and there is no other, I am God, and there is nonelike me, Declaring the end from the beginning,and from ancient times things that are not yet done,saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do allMy Pleasure,’ . . .Indeed I have spoken it,I will also bring it to pass.I have purposed it, I will also do it.” Isaiah 46:9-11(NKJ) In other words, He will tell ushistory before it happens!

Not onlydoes God tell us history before it happens through His prophets, but historytells us how and when those events actually occurred. Well, maybe it’s just coincidental that thousandsof Bible prophecies have come true!Pinpointed accuracies so precise as to name which emperors would do whathundreds of years before they lived, and cities by name, doomed to destructionhundreds of years before they existed.Hundreds of prophecies about Jesus, some over one thousand years beforeHis birth! Coincidences? Really?Don’t let your disbelief get in the way of your common sense!

Before wego any further, a word about psychics.Don’t get psychics and fortunetellers confused with prophecy! Psychics, fortunetellers, divination,witchcraft, and astrology; the occult, use the powers of darkness – the devil, Satan! Keep far away from these! They will give Satan and his demons ofdarkness a foothold in your life!

Prophecysets the Bible and the Judeo-Christian faith apart from allother religions because no other religion has it! The Bible is almost one-third prophecy! It has never been wrong, has alwaysbeen 100% accurate, and the margin of error is Zero! Biblical prophecy is absolute confirmationnot only that God exists but is also impervious to rejection. Bibleprophesy reveals God’s purpose for mankind; it identifies the Messiah and informsus of the Antichrist so that no one need be deceived.

Unfortunately, millions will be deceivedbecause they’re too busy thinking up reasons not to believe the truthof the Bible instead of simply reading it and believing it!

When Jesus was being questioned by PontiusPilate He replied “…For this I have come into the world, to bear witnessto the truth. Everyone whois of the truth hears My voice.”Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” John 18:37b, 38a An age-old question. Truth is intimidating anddisconcerting. You think you want tofind it, but you’re not really sure, and the closer you get to it, youfind yourself rather reluctant to continue searching it out, especiallyif it goes against what you thought was truth! What is truth?God and His Word is Truth!

The DeadSea Scrolls (which are about 900 years older than our oldest manuscripts) haveproven beyond the shadow of a doubt that the Bible is absolutely accurate. Jesus meant exactly what he said, “Heavenand earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” Matthew24:35 (NKJ) The first thing that Satandoes is to try to get us to doubt the word of God! (Unfortunately, most poor souls fall for hislies!) “Indeed, has God said, youshall not eat from any tree of the garden?” Genesis 3:1 He always twists the scriptures, trying toconfuse the issue! All the cults say theBible is inaccurate because they all have the same author behind them: Satan!

Just asprophecy is unique to the Bible, it is also unique to Jesus. No prophecies foretold the coming of Buddha,Muhammad, Zoroaster, Confucius, or any other “religious” leader! “There aremore than 300 prophecies in the Old Testament which identify Israel’s Messiah, centuriesbefore His coming. Bible prophecymentions numerous, specific criteria which had to be fulfilled by theMessiah. (Psalms 16:10, 49:15 andthe amazing Psalm 22 to mention just a few) The fulfillment of these prophecies in minutedetail in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus isabsolute corroboration that He is the Messiah!“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other nameunder heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4;12 (NIV)

He was also seen by over 500 peopleshortly after His resurrection, affirming He did in fact rise from the dead. 1Corinthians 15:5-8 Most of whom werestill living when Paul wrote his first letters to the Galatians about 50 A.D.and the Corinthians, about 53 A.D., 17 to 20 years later!

Why this book?

There is alot of confusion about the Bible and Christianity itself. Mainly because of man-made doctrines, plusthe fact that many people get most of their theology from watching preachers onTV, instead of studying the Bible themselves.A lot of folks look at the Bible as overwhelming and perhaps a little intimidating.I figure some might be more prone topick up a small book loaded with scripture as well as a few scriptural guidelinesthat might help them rightly divide the Word of Truth of the Bible, and maybe,just maybe they might get on the right path, get inspired to read theBible, wake up and smell the coffee, and save their souls from Hell! There are approximately 200 Christiandenominations in the U. S. and a staggering 33,000 globally! As well as several cults that appearto be Christian and mislead people to their doom!

You mightfeel some of the things I say in this book are offensive, especially if they goagainst things you’ve been taught. Theyare definitely not meant to be! We haveall received misinformation about one thing or another during our lives, buthaving the incorrect instructions about your faith and your soul could bedevastating through all eternity!Millions of lost souls pour into Hell because most people are afraid ofoffending someone! I believe if yourhouse is on fire, you’d rather know about it, even though you mighttake offense about being awakened in the middle of the night!

Then thereare the hucksters and charlatans who tell you what you want to hear andconvince you to send them as much money as they can squeeze out of you, makinga fortune in the process, while owning 2 or 3 multi-million-dollar jet planes,owning huge mansions, and confusing you even more! I see deceivedChristians, confused Christians, sickly Christians, weak Christians,emotionally distraught Christians, Christians whose families are torn apart,destitute Christians, Christians hooked on drugs, alcohol and/or illicit sex,and Christians that have died before their time! Most people don’trealize that living life apart from the way God told us to live, hasits repercussions in your daily life!Your Christian faith and your daily life are tied together, they’renot separate! That men may knowfrom the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other, The One forming lightand creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity;I am the LORD who does all these. Isaiah 45:6,7

Peoplewonder why there is so much pain, suffering and disease in the worldif God is love! Because we live in a fallenworld ever since Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the forofferdenfruit, buying the serpent’s story of “You can become like God”! So, God is notthe one to blame; it is us! All ofus! For continuing to disobey thestatutes of God, without repentance and without asking for forgiveness, sincemost of us were taught that the Laws of God have been annulled!

So, if youare growing weary of having one miserable day after another where nothing seemsto go right, stop beating yourself up and start living your life God’s way! Unfortunately, many Christians go to church,get their “Sunday fix”, thinking that pleases God, ignoring HisSabbath Day, His Appointed Times, and HisStatutes and Commandments and then go on living the rest of the week asthey always had. “This peoplehonors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me.But invain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men. Neglecting the commandment of God, youhold to the tradition of men.” Mark 7:6b-8 ReadDeuteronomy 27 & 28 and you’ll understand why there is somuch pain, suffering and disease!

We see several churchesin the United States appearing to be filled to capacity on Sunday with about5,000 or more congregants. With numberslike that, a person tends to think, “This must be the right place to be. They can’t all be wrong, can they?” “Enter by the narrowgate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad thatleads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it.Forthe gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, andfew are those who find it.” “Beware of thefalseprophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly areravenouswolves ”Matthew 7:13-15
