This MAGNIFICENT silk and cotton 1870's / 1880's silk-cotton crazy tied quilt is all hand pieced with elaborate had embroidered embellishments, including the a branch/leaf object two places. This was from an estate withseveral quilts which had been stored away for a long time, some of those quilts were dated in the 1800s as well as other clues allowing safe assumption all the materials were from the same era. This came from a San Francisco Bay Area estate.It measures 63" X 72" and is in good condition, with some damages silks in one spot (dark purple piece) and minimal wear. The back consists of a floral cotton and has minimal batting. The lace is 3" wide and in excellent condition with no obvious tears.
