I have never seen this frame before and after scanning the internet i can find no other like it. This is a fantastic, rare late 19th century cut to clear ruby glass frame. I have to say i\'m certainly no expert on glass, so i\'m not really sure this is \'cut to clear\' as the \'clear\' portions are actually silvered or mirrored. Likely American (or possibly Czech) this frame is in outstanding original condition with just a few tiny fleabites on the edges (and likely missing the backstand). Brilliant, sparkling ruby glass with vining grape leaf designs and a decorated oval opening. Constructed with a cigar box backboard and Victorian brass spring clip, this frame measures 7 x 9 with a 3 1/2 x 4 3/8 oval viewing area. Amazing rare frame. Please email with any questions.
