MISSING = No remains of the corresponding issue.

44 Issues + 1 partial issue (April 10) of Youth\'s Companion from 1884. This lot is in particularly good condition on average. The following listings are MISSING from the 1884 volume:

Note about photos: The last photo shows an unfolded 2x2 sheet from 1881 included in all my Youth\'s Companion listings for illustration purposes. Main photo does not show all issues in the lot, just the header of about 12. Other photos are just a random sample of content issues in the stack. If special \"holiday\" covers/issues are included in the lot, they are photographed specifically.

SHIPPING

Issues will be stacked and placed in a large plastic sleeveand taped shut. The stack will be boarded by thick pieces of scrap cardboard andshipped in a large padded mailer via USPS Media Mail.

YOUTH’S COMPANION LOT BOILERPLATE DESCRIPTION DISCLAIMER:

The issues were found in an abandoned house I purchased atsale in the summer of 2021. They were all found, disorganized, in threeboxes. Like any newsprint/paper stored for a long time, issues found at the topof the stacks and issues “misaligned” in the stacks are in the worst condition.Given the rather low value of single issues of Youth’s Companion, I cannot giveyou a description of every issue nor confirm every page is present.

The condition of individual issues varies, but after sorting the stack the majority are in the \"Good\" to \"G/VG\" category if assessing similarly to magazines with consideration for the age. Maybe 2-3/10 are “fair” and 1/10 being “poor.”Issues that could make a particular issue fair or poor: tears, brittle edges,soiling, holes, creases (other than original folds), soiling etc. That said, these are 140 year old newspapers; please expect some condition issues.
Please note that a “typical” issue of Youth’s Companion fromthis era had, at least one large 2x2, double sided sheet folded into thedelivered size and sometimes an additional/final 2x1 double sided sheet for the last pages.For example, in a 20-page issue, there would be two double-sided 4x4 sheets (16pages) and one 2x1 double-sided sheet (4 pages).

I went through every issue I had in these three boxes, shookoff dust, folded it back to original orientation, and put them in order bydate/year. If the 2x1 pages were found elsewhere in the stack, they are placedin the fold of the corresponding issue. If ONLY the 2x1 was found, they are loose in order by date.
