Spinosaurus is a large dinosaur species that lived approximately 112 million to 97 million years ago during the Cretaceous period. It is one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs known, with estimates putting its length at approximately 50-60 feet (15-18 meters). Spinosaurus was characterized by its unique spinal sail, made up of elongated spinal bones that formed a large hump on its back.
