Sir John Hunt. (1910-1998). Author and British Army officer best known as the leader of the successful 1953 British Expedition to Mount Everest.John Hunt became the 'father figure' of post-war British mountaineering. He was President of the Alpine Club in 1956-58, which included the Centenary celebrations.5 1/4x3 1/4 card signed in blue ink, "With best wishes. John Hunt. 9•2•81."
