What is Blotter Art?

The term Blotter art refers to the perforated artwork that liquid LSD is traditionally dropped onto. The artwork can then be torn apart and distributed on the small squares or “hits” of acid.

Small symbolic pictures were added to the paper to provide clues as to the origin of the LSD that paper contained. The symbolic pictures became creative and amazing designs. Many designs have never been used to actually distribute LSD.

Since then, the legal hobby of collecting unused, not dosed, blotter art has flourished and the art has grown even more intricate. You can find many rare, vintage, and even signed sheets online.
