A daimyo's procession is shown here crossing the bridge. In the distance is the town, Okazaki Castle (at the extreme right), and blue and black mountains in the background. The town of Okazaki was one of the most famous pleasure-centers on the Tokaido. Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, was born in Okazaki and once resided in the castle there.Material Japanese washi paper.
