This is a large plate of plant fossils from the now-closed location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The distinct fossil ferns are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale - quite striking! The detail of the fossils is very nice, and the individual fern fronds are nicely showcased and naturally spaced on the large plate of shale. There are a few very nice fern fronds preserved on the plate, with TWO DIFFERENT TYPES of ferns represented!This is a large, displayable plate of classic white seed fern fossils from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania - very impressive!
