These low-profile filters come in sets of 2 filters per vacuum sealed canister. They are quick connect external filters with a bayonet style connector that are only compatible with the M50 mask. The twin filter design significantly reduces breathing resistance and improves weight distribution. The filters provide protection from CB agents, toxins, and a number of Toxic Industrial Materials/Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICs/TIMs) such as particulate matter including radioactive hazards, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide and organic vapors with a boiling point above 65°C. n FM61 Filters can be replaced without breaking the protective seal through self-sealing connections.

The filter itself is constructed from a synthetic polystyrene and Polyphenylene ether thermoplastic polymer. It produces a product that is very durable and and when fielded, it provides extreme resilience against shock and impacts. CNRN threats are absorbed by activated charcoal and metallic salts of copper, zinc, molybdenum, and silver to react chemically with agents such as hydrogen cyanide and cyanogen chloride. Top notch protection from physically adsorbed gases such as mustard gases, nerve agents, phosgene, and chloropicrin.

Particulate element is made from PTE

The FM61 Filter is non-ferrous and non-magnetic.

These filters are effective aainst Chemical and Biological Agents, and provides protection against many Toxic Industrial Chemicals that includes, but is not limited to: organic vapors with a boiling point over 65°C, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, formaldehyde, nitrogen dioxide, phosgene, phosphine, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, methylamine, and ammonia.
