some lava lamps do not work well with 130 volt long life bulbs, but we recommend them for use in T. V. A. territory,

and in such states as Florida and Alabama where , frequent lightning strikes are common; and,

As the 130 volt burn cooler and may not make the lava bubble upright, or bubble as fast;

130 volt bulbs withstand surges better, but on a standard 120 volt circuit, it will burn 12% less wattage, and therefore will not burn as hot, which may affect lava lamp performance. Incandescent lamps emit 3.4 B.T.U. s of heat per watt, and the amount of heat is important in this application. This bulb is a long life bulb, and will burn a long time and do a better job, but in other areas of the country, especially in areas where you may experience \"brownouts\" such as California, you probably will be better off with a 120 volt model, see separate listing in my store item number400536337909.
