some lava lamps do not work well with 130 volt long life bulbs, that others sell,

as the 130 volt burn cooler and may not make the lava bubble upright, or as fast;

130 volt bulbs withstand surges better, and we recommend thise use in Alabama; but, on a standard 120 volt circuit, it will burn 12% less wattage, and therefore will not burn as hot, which may affect lava lamp performance. Incandescent lamps emit 3.4 B.T.U. s of heat per watt, and the amount of heat is important in this application. This bulb is a long life bulb, and will burn a long time and do a better job, especially in areas where you may experience voltage surges, such as Alabama.
