Welcome!

WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: This is a very special linked bracelet with exceptional carved turquoise leaves, one on each link, andwith one sagebrush stamp on each link as well as a hand made silver leaf on each link, made by the renowned Ben Eustace of Zuni and Cochiti Pueblo. In the early 1960s Ben Eustace became very famous for this type of work though this is a top notch, superb and very rare example. This piece is entirely hand done and it dates early, to before the 1950s. This artist carved the turquoise by hand based on what the stones told him. He was born in 1920, a Zuni silversmith, noted for his nugget and leaf jewelry and in fact the Eustace family is known as the developers of silver leaf jewelry as well as carved turquoise, coral, and shell into floral and leaf forms, bezel set in silver. Ben Eustace believed the stones had spirit and one must treat them with respect because they are alive and part of Mother Earth. His work was collected by C. G. Wallace. When he married his wife, Felecia Jones, he moved from his Zuni Pueblo to her Pueblo: Cochiti, and they had 13 talented artistic children as well as numerous brilliant grandchildren. He used his sagebrush stamp on not only each link of the bracelet but also on his stamped hallmark on the back of the bracelet and he lost this stamp in the 50\'s, so we know it\'s an earlier piece. The silver leaf is convex and hand chiseled and each link is backed flat so it is comfortable to wear and completely finished in the workmanship. Everything is hand made on this exceptional bracelet; there is a safety chain as well, so if the insert clasp\'s push button were somehow depressed and were to open the safety chain would protect the bracelet from loss.

CONDITION: excellent vintage, wearable and collectible.

MEASUREMENTS:
• bracelet length internal, about 7-1/4\" but links do take up some space.
• each link is over 1\" long and is about 7/8\" wide
• the stones are natural turquoise, measuring about 5/8\" x 3/8\"
• weight 29.90grams
• not marked for metal content which is usual for those times, but it\'s at least coin at .900 or sterling at .925 silver
• artist is the great Ben Eustace, Zuni and Cochiti signed

SUMMARY: It doesn\'t get better than this. The carved turquoise on this bracelet is beautiful; its magnificent and the design is very fine. Ben Eustace was one of the best artists in Zuni and Cochiti Pueblo history and this is one of his most gorgeous and wearable bracelets and it\'s certainly a one of a kind. For your pleasure and your collection, you will always be happy to have this exquisite piece. It\'s a knockout! And you\'ll never see another like it.
