This vintage real photo postcard is an extremely rare one. I have not seen one like it before and I have seen a multitude of cards. There are a number of postcards out there showing people in wheel chairs; but not in mobile hospital beds (carts). This is a sad image with a likely accompanying sad story. A couple has taken an ill family member to the beach in a mobile hospital bed. The bed looks more like a hospital cart or gurney. The young woman in the image must have been thrilled to visit the beach. She was too ill to leave her sickbed. The family cleverly solved the problem by taking the sickbed to the beach. One wonders if the young woman was recovering from the Spanish Flu (1918-1920), at the time of her outing. Note the tiny fold at the center of the top of the image. It does not look like a tear; but I am reluctant to test it. Overall, this vintage postcard is in good condition (see scans).
