Here's one of the big classic true "quack" cure-all bottles of all time....a Radam's Microbe Killer Cure with emb man clubbing a skeleton and dated 1887....... It has the words CURES ALL DISEASES emb right on the front!.... Wm RADAM'S MICROBE KILLER REGISTERED TRADE MARK DEC.13,1887 (all emb inside a large shield along with man clubbing grim reaper skeleton).... GERM BACTERIA OR FUNGUS DESTROYER / CURES ALL DISEASES (also emb on front panel)...all nice bold embossing!......Hand blown in mold....smooth base...smooth sheared lip....amber....square with rounded corners...amber....10 1/4"tall....Excellent condition with no chips or damage of any kind. A nice clean bottle with only a couple small spots of faint haze; not bad at all. This is one of the boldest embossed Radam's bottles I've seen!.... Many complaints were made to the government about this quack nostrum in the 1890s. When analyzed by a chemist it was found to contain 99% plain old water and about 1% acid, which gave it just a tingle to make the user think it was actually doing something. The government busted the Radam's Microbe Killer company and raided their warehouse, breaking all the bottles and jugs of Microbe Killer they could find ....
