There will be wearfor many years of use and there is some surface rust and some of the enamel has come off. There is a break in the belt that pulls the carriage back and forth. It has ribbin but it is broken it could be run if it was being used for display. I did do some cleaning on it and all the letter and shifts seam to work. I thank if you replaced the ribbon and the shift belt this baby would work. I do my best but from time to time miss some defects or issues Pleaselook at all the pics and if there are any concerns are you need more picturesplease do not hesitate to ask before your purchase and thank you for looking.
