Neat vintage Peruvian Chulucanas Large Pottery Egg. I don't know this piece's history but it has all the hallmarks of this type of pottery. It might even be antique, I wish I knew. I imagine it was originally on a sort of dowl rod mounted into a small base. You can see the hole at the bottom of the egg where it would have a rod inserted. I've photographed it laying naturally in some of the photos. The design is a folk art, geometric face motif in black and cream. You'll see in the pictures that on every side there's a face due to the layout of the geometric pattern. The designs represent important spiritual symbols to the Chulucanas culture. It's unique and bold.

There is some loss of finish but it looks natural to me. Please see pictures for condition detail.
