Takes 3 AA batteries not included. There\'s also a little brown button you can push to make it sing. This is in very good condition and has been stored away. Just add batteries and it is ready to use. This is plastic but is textured and painted very nicely to make it look realistic. Measures about 9 1/2 inches high by 6 1/2 inches wide
