Large footed maple Munising serving bowl, featuring a carved \"thumb print\" design around the outer edge, circa 1940\'s or earlier. The bowl was made of premium hardwood \"for chopping or mixing\" by Munising Wood Products in Michigan\'s Upper Peninsula which went out of business in the 1950\'s. This collectible bowl has a beautiful wood grain pattern and patina, and measures approximately 3 inches high, 10 inches in diameter. This bowl lives up to its advertising as \"the finest kitchen woodenware\"; \"Munising bowls last a lifetime.\" This bowl has no chips or cracks, and seems as solid today as the day it was made. There are some darkened areas or discolorations.
