Falcon And The Winter Soldier’: Is Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine The Power Broker?

There was buzz heading into the penultimate season 1 episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that a new character we haven’t been introduced to before in the MCU would emerge, and surface she did.

Eleven-Primetime Emmy winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus made her Marvel debut as the enigmatic Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, appearing to the recently cancelled Captain America John Walker as potentially a saving grace to resurrecting his fallen superhero career.

“You can just call me Val, but don’t call me Val, just keep it in your head,” she instructed Walker in Episode 5.

A full trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier debuted alongside new trailers for other Marvel Disney+ shows, including Loki, What If?, and WandaVision. Marvel also dropped announcements for new shows like Secret Invasion, Armor Wars, and Ironheart, and revealed other information about its upcoming projects. As for the footage shown in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, not much was given away in terms of which Marvel Comics characters the two main protagonists will be crossing paths with, but some of the struggles they’ll be encountering were shown in the trailer.
