Used on the SR-71, the first 4 missions of the Space Shuttle and the U2, this helmet has been used in some of histories greatest aviation missions.
Molded directly from a real David Clark S-1030 helmet, the shell is a nice quality fiberglass layup. The visors are very clean, optically perfect with the correct fiberglass support frames.All of the visor pivot hardware is cast pewter, that has been nickel plated to best simulate the stainless steel hardware from the real helmet.Bailer bar is machined aluminum as is the helmet disconnect ring.
The internal adjustable cable adjustable fit system is not present, but there is a face dam.
These were originally produced by Global Effects for the U.S. Air Force in order to avoid ITAR restriction when displaying pressure suits over seas. They have since been used in a number of film production, including "Ad Astra" where they served as the base, for Brad Pitts helmet.
