If you know you know. If you collect Becker knives this is one of the \"grail\" models. I\'m not sure what to even ask for with the everyday production models for sale at high numbers. My price is best buy it now or best offer. I can provide more photos or details if you message me.
Extremely early Ethan Becker (Becker Knife and Tool BK&T) Cincinnati era Machax. Brass pinned walnut handles that predate the bolt on glass fiber handles, pre factory production, these were all cut and ground out by hand or small local machine shops. This one looks to have had it\'s primary bevel shaped with a surface plate grinder.
The only marking on the knife is a very small, scribed, inscription that appears to read \"BKT\" then a #15 under it. I tried to photograph it. This knife is so early it might be the 15th one made in the first retail batch.
The blade is carbon steel and was either hard chromed or phosphate coated, I\'m not sure which. Appears to be .25 thick and is the same from end to end. Absolutely built like a tank.
The blade is in excellent shape with just a tiny ding in the edge that will sharpen out over time. Shows lots of patina, but that is good because this is a collectors blade you can use and not ruin it\'s value. The blade is straight, no cracks, no major corrosion, just decades of normal wear and care.
Has the original thick black leather sheath in excellent condition. Appears to have had the paracord replaced, looks too new to be original. The sheaths are extremely rare and can bring can bring several hundred dollars alone.
