THIS ITEM IS--one of an amazing collection of vintage Marionette items mostly Photos 1920\'s-1970\'s, mostly 50\'s, American and foreign. came from the Philiadelpha Marionette Theatre and Museum. an amazing history, some of the pictures have backing that may or may not still be attached, some have writing on the back, some do not. WOW. ---- This 5 pictures from Sept. 1962. Some of the photos may have marks from the paper clips. Unfortuately I can not make out all the names. I will list them as closely as I can. Piece-Kin Puppets of Long Island, NY, Gigi Puppets of Weston, Conn., Salvatore Macri from Sicily, Tom Weil From Stony Creek, Conn., the Tisdale Van Theater.

I did find this from Salvatore Macri\'s obituary:

MACRI, SALVATORE G. Salvatore G. Macri - 12/19/37-8/8/12 - was born in Acireale, Sicily. Sal was a third generation master puppeteer. He came to this country in the early 1960s and soon after acquired an antique collection of Sicilian puppets from a close associate of his father\'s Teatro dei Pupi. Sal founded the puppet theater in Stony Creek where his family of puppets was housed for many years. He performed there and throughout the US, sharing the unique and fascinating tradition of the Sicilian Puppet Theater including a public television performance on PBS. Sal was a tremendously gifted artist and his generous talent touched the lives of many. - See more at:
