This leather sheath is custom made by Tinkerman Leatherworks in the United States. You don't know how many times I've seen awesome knives only to be let down by terrible, ugly, low quality sheaths. Ive had countless conversations with bladesmiths about how their isn't many options for affordable high quality sheaths. Either its a cheap $12 sheath that looks horrible and is cheaply made in China or India with the lowest quality materials or its a $200 sheath that is frankly not in most peoples budgets. This sheath design was created through a back and forth dialogue with local bladesmiths. We have sold hundreds of these locally to satisfied customers. I wanted to create something affordable but very high quality and unique. Something that complements the knife not just protects it. I believe this has the look, feel and features of a very expensive sheath without the high price. Its designed to fit fixed blade knives up to about 8" total length and 1.5' width. I've seen lots of different blade profiles and for the most part, knives with a total length of about 8" including the handle typically will have a blade about 1.5" wide or smaller and that's what this sheath was designed for. This sheath is designed to where about 1/3rd of the handle will stick out of the top for ease of removing the knife. The hand stitching is protected with a thick leather welt that stops the blade from cutting the thread. The top opening is reinforced with a heavy duty rivet, this is probably the area of a sheath that gets the most stress other than the belt loop. The rivet is also set into the welt and does not come into contact with the blade. The belt loop is attached with two heavy duty rivets and is ideal for right-side carry. The leather used for this sheath is from high-quality black English Bridle Leather from the world renowned Wicket&Craig tannery.
