Vintage Japanese Nambu cast iron rectangular ashtray made by IWACHU in Morioka City, the home (or one of the two homes, to be precise) of Nambu Ironware in Iwate Prefecture. Nambu Ironware (or Nambu tekki in Japanese) is a form of metalwork produced in Iwate, a north-eastern prefecture in Japan. It is a traditional craft that was first created in the middle of the Edo period (1603-1868).
