Up for sale is a 10 1/2" x 8" 1-page typed, personal letter from Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. - on United States Representative To The United Nations letterhead - to Mr. Semmes, Washington, D.C., dated October 4, 1954. In Full: "Thank you for your letter. I am, of course, deeply interested in anything to do with the Second Armored Division. Although November is one of my busiest months, I will try to come to the meeting for part of the evening at any rate. I am sorry to say that I have no list of Second Armored Division members. One name that you certainly should include is Michael J. Galvin, 49 Monument Avenue, Boston 29, Massachusetts."
Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. (July 5, 1902 - February 27, 1985) sometimes referred to as Henry Cabot II, was a Republican United States Senator from Massachusetts and a U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, South Vietnam, West Germany, and the Holy See. He was the Republican nominee for Vice President in the 1960 Presidential election.The letter is generally in good condition, however, there is some pencil notes on the left of the text in some other hand. The blue underline and written text appears to be in his hand. There is also two holes punched in the upper border. Other than that, it has light wear. It has two creases across the middle where it was originally folded when mailed. Some wear around the edges and other small dings.
