made in 1875-76, printed later (c. 1900)Three pairs of gelatin silver prints (c. 8.3 x 7.5 cm - each image),
mounted to original studio cards (c. 8.9 x 18 cm),without photographer´s credit, annotated and numbered in the negative in the lower margin.As visible on the scansthe stereo views are in a very nice and clean condition
with rich dark tones and only very small signs of use.G. A. Riemer (1842-1899), paymaster of the prussian warship S.M.S. Hertha,
took a series of early stereo views in Japan, China and the Islands in the South Pacific on the journey to East Asia (1874–1877),
which were originally published as albumen prints by J. F. Stiehm, Berlin, in the early 1880s.The stereo images offered here were printed later (c. 1900) and
published by the \"Continental Stereoscop. Comp., Hamburg & Philadelphia Pa.\" -in parallel to the prints published by the \"Neue Photographische Gesellschaft (NPG), Berlin-Steglitz.To verify that these images are truly by G. A. Riemer,
