This exquisite Russian lacquer box features a beautiful winter forest scene with a girl holding a bird, and Old Man Winter (or the Russian equivalent) in the background. The fine craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident in every brushstroke on the hand-painted design. The box is made in Fedoskino and is signed by the talented artist, M Vorobyova.
The box is a wonderful addition to any collection and a perfect gift for anyone who loves Russian culture and craftsmanship. It is handmade in the Russian Federation and is a featured refinement in lacquer box collecting. The provenance of the box is not available, but this did come from the estate of a world traveler and the original paperwork for the purchase is inside the box (see photos). The box measures 6-1/4" long x 3-1/3" wide x just under 1-1/2" tall.
