Don't miss out on this incredible addition to your collection! The Freedom Fighters is a superhero team created by Quality Comics acquired & now revived by DC Comics. The original six characters were the Uncle Sam, Black Condor, Doll Man, the Human Bomb, the Ray, the Phantom Lady. The team first appeared (DC Comics) in a Justice League of America/Justice Society of America team-up (Justice League of America #107–108 (October–December 1973)) This multiverse corssover was written by Len Wein and drawn by Dick Dillin. This crossover garnered enough response for DC to initiate an ongoing series premiering with Freedom Fighters #1 (April 1976), written by Gerry Conway and Martin Pasko, and drawn by Ric Estrada. In the Pre-Crisis (on Infinate Earths) era of multiverses, the Freedom Fighters were considered natives from Earth-X, retroactive stories later established the group as native from Earth-Two, who migrated to Earth-X. In this parallel world of "Earth-X" it was Nazi Germany that eventually won a prolonged World War II due to a Japanese invasion of California and the development of nuclear weapons by the Nazis. Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths (all multiverses merged into one), the Freedom Fighters were based on the main DC Universe Earth and were all members of the All-Star Squadron during World War II. In September 2011, The New 52 rebooted DC's continuity. In this new timeline, the Freedom Fighters still inhabit Earth-10 (Roman numeral for 10 is 'X'), but according to Grant Morrison's Multiversity revision of the concept, the Earth-10 ('X') Kal-L landed in German territory in 1938. Hitler reverse-engineered the alien technology and released Kal-L/Overman on American forces in the 1950s. The Kryptonian powerhouse of Overman enabled Nazi Germany to win the Second World War. The Freedom Fighters still exist as a team but they are genetically enhanced metahumans insted of the original natural meta-humans. This enhancement was through the genius of the Earth-10 ('X') Dr. Sivana, but in this revised and inclusive composition (the Ray is gay, Doll Man is a Jehovah's Witness, the Black Condor is an African-American, and the Phantom Lady is Romani). The Freedom Fighters commit various acts of terrorism against Overman's post-Nazi regime.
