This classic Bronze Age book is an extremely rare 30 cent variant of the second appearance of Bullseye, who, along with Kingpin, is perhaps Daredevil's most important villain!
Marvel 30 cent variants were created during 1976, when, due to rising production costs, Marvel decided to run a pilot program in six test markets to determine whether consumers would support an increase in cover prices to 30 cents. The six test markets were San Jose, CA; Grand Rapids, MI; Baltimore, MD; San Antonio, TX; Albuquerque, NM; and Springfield, MA. The 30 cent variants made up only a very small percentage of the overall print run. This particular issue has over 300 CGC graded copies of the 25 cent regular version and 39 CGC graded copies of the 30 cent variant.
Bullseye has featured prominently and repeatedly in Daredevil's comic book storylines since being introduced in 1976 in the issue prior to this one. He is the villain who killed Elektra and has been included every time Daredevil has had a movie or TV show.
This book is a complete and attractive copy of this key Bronze Age issue! The book is tight and flat, with the only apparent defects being a few spine stress lines, light edge wear, and very light corner wear. There are no missing coupons or pages and the Marvel Value Stamp is intact as shown.
I carefully compared this book to the Overstreet Grading Guide and the books in the VF- 7.5 section, as well as the grade levels above and below, and concluded that this book merits a VF- 7.5 grade.
