Theimage area of the mapmeasures 31 x 43.7 cm [12-1/4" x 17-1/4"], and details include roads,canals,railroads, fortified cities, battle sites, and mountain passes. There'sa distance scalein the lower center, with British and Italian miles. The map is titledin the upper right corner: Sardinia, (Piedmont, Savoy,&c.) Parma & Modena.There is an engraved illustration titled "The Charge of the Zoaves attheBattle of Palestro" — a town in the province of Pavia, on the banks ofthe Sesia River.There are news reports on the war, along with an editorial on NapoleonIIIand Italy's future.
