Buffy the Vampire Slayer #1 (Dark Horse Comics September 1998):
$11.11

This is a must-have for any fan of\"Buffy the Vampire Slayer!\"This amazing single issue comic book features the beloved character, Buffy, and is a spin-off of the popular \"Buffy the Vampire Slayer\" TV series. The comic was published by Dark Horse Comics in 1998 & is not only #1 but also the \"B\" variant cover (the Art Adams cover). The comic is in great condition and is a great addition to any collection.

While manycomic booksbased on the television series\"BuffytheVampireSlayer\"were published when the television show was on air they are not all consideredcanonicaland often deal with characters who do not appear in the television series, most notably in style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px 0px; padding-bottom: 0.5em; font-family: sans-serif;\">The first series of books were published byDarkHorseComicsbetween 1998 and 2004, originally in comic format but then gathered into volumes oftradepaperbacks. A small number of Buffy comics have not been included in trade paperbacks, such as the books entitled\"Giles\", \"Jonathan\",and\"Reunion\".

Following the television series finale, Dark Horse began releasing new books titled Season Eight (8), Nine (9), and Ten (10), and the various spin-offs, which are written and/or supervised by creator Joss Whedon and officially recognized as canon to the show. Series creatorJossWhedonand a number of writers involved with the television series authored many of the comic books. Overviews summarizing the comic books\' storylines were written early in the writing process and were\'approved\'by both/either theFoxNetworkand/orJoss Whedon(or his office), and the books were, therefore, later published as officialBuffymerchandise.

The stories in theBuffycomics take place in between episodes of the\"BuffytheVampireSlayer\"TV series, and continue after the series ended. Issues #1 - #63 take place during the period that the series was still on air, and none are written by Joss Whedon himself. The earlier issues are not very easy to place in the series other than the season they are set in. The stories get more specific later on, however; for example, the\"Oz\"(Buffy)comics fill in the story line of Oz\'s character after he leaves the TV series, and the\"DeathofBuffy\"comics clearly take place between Seasons #5 and #6 of the series.

Art Adams Cover!!!!!

The comic has color separations on the cover (during the printing process) and one small tear on the back cover at the top out side corner (probably during the unpacking process). The tear is not a complete removal of the corner and is still intact to the book. All pages are NEW white. Actual grade is more Fine-Very Fine (FVF) in strict adherence to the \"Overstreet Grading Guide\"; however, I down graded it to Fine minus (F-) to be completely transparent and fair. The $11.11 reflects this lower grade; otherwise (FVF) Fine-Very Fine would be $15.15.
