With the creation of the Air Force as a separate service in 1947 Army aviation warranted a new badge forArmy Aircrew Personnel. The result was the creation of the Army Aircrew Badge, which is a modified version of the larger size U.S. Air Force (WWII Army Air Corps Wing).

Thiswing is made of metal and is approximately 2 1/4 inches wideand features 2 clutch back fasteners.
