Antique American Pewter Whale Oil Lamp, Attributed Morey & Ober, Boston, MA., c. 1852 - 1854. This is an attractive small bell shaped pewter whale oil sparking lamp. The lamp has it\'s original double tube camphene burner with burner caps on a chain. This type of burner usually sells for $75 to $100 alone! This lamp is marked, with an impressed mark that reads, \"MOREY & OBER - BOSTON -1\". This fine pewter lamp was manufactured by David B. Morey and R. H. Ober. They were registered pewterers who produced variuos pewter items including, lamps, tea pots and coffee pots. They worked out of Boston, for only three years, beginning in 1852.
