This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC Aerospace Engineer that was part of ABMA and NASA working with Wernher von Braun on the pioneering Rocket Team. Mr. Thomson was ultimately responsible for the development of the H1, J2 and F1 Rocket Engines and eventually put in charge of the Shuttle "SSME" development in 1968, Lastly from 1971-86 he served as Chief Engineer for the Space Shuttle Main Engine the RS-25. This listing is for a Set (Mr. Thomson's scrapbook collection) of NASA Original information relating to STS-1 Space Shuttle Columbia Development/Launch. Items include NASA Original 1st Generation Photos (purple ink stamp on back, other NASA ORIGINAL non-published (no purple ink stamp, but numbered - some in succession), multiple other photos, Emblem, Decals, multiple badges from tests/launch, Rockwell News, NASA Marshall Star and Marshall Activities Newsletters, 8x10 photo of Mr. Thomson, a crew historical event letter and an original "Mr. Thomson's" transcribed copy of SSME Conference Channel tape reading during STS-1 Launch - April 10, 10981. Finally, there are items relating to the crew and their visit to Marshall Space Flight Center including a photo of crew with Mr. Thomson (photo has label on backside - not shown in photos - that has crew names and date) as well as a brochure created by MSFC. All items are in Very Good condition for use/age with some storage wear. Most items have a glue dot in the center to keep them in place.
