An original British Brown Bess India pattern bayonet made by Harper in 1809-10.
Marked 44 on socket and ricasso for 44th East Essex Regiment raised in 1741 and fought at Salamanca and Waterloo against Napoleon.
Overall light patina. Missing 1/16" tip. Socket 4" and blade 17" long.
