Detailed Description

A description of Erez Israel and travels in it by R. Moses ben Menahem Tennenbaum (Tannenbaum). The title page describes Massot Moses as being an explanation of wondrous matters concerning the holy land, its approaches, features, nature, borders, seas, rivers, mountains, valleys, the land, burial places of the avot and righteous [may their merit protect us], customs, anecdotes pertaining to the land, as well as what the author’s eyes beheld when traveling in the holy land in the year 1924. Massot Moshe received approbations from R. Joseph Hayyim Sonnenfeld, R. Saul Broch, R. Samuel Engel, R. Meir Tennenbaum, father-in-law of the author, and R. Menahem Mendel ben Jacob Tennenbaum, father of the author. There are two introductions from R. Tennenbaum and the text, which begins with a description of the land among the tribes. The text, in a single column in rabbinic letters, then follows the outline of the contents on the title page. At the end is a lengthy list of the individuals who made publication possible, ordered by city.
