Small orange ticket noted as \"Meal Ticket\". Further notes that really it is an advertisement for The Lockes theatre company who will be appearing at the Opera House all next Fair Week with New Plays and lots of scenery. (perhaps the Brown County Fair)The back notes though that it actually served as a meal ticket for Hotel Moreland. This was located in Hiawatha Kansas. It is signed Mrs. D M T - she was the proprietor (Mrs. D M Topliff). She has further noted \'Oct 29th Paid\'.
Regarding The Lockes, I\'m guessing this would have be Marshall Locke, former part-time professional baseball player, who took up a theatrical and music writing career. He was in Kansas during the later part of the 1800s).
Or it could have been Belle Marshall Locke, whose theatricalcareer spanned this same time period (unknown if these two were related).
Lastly, there was a Reserved Seat Check that was with this ticket, and dates correctly to the same time period.Guaranteed genuine as described. Registered APS Dealer.
