Here is a WorldWar II US 8th Army Patch. The regulation issue, machine embroidered patch was worn and removed from a uniform. It is ingood plus condition and at least 77 years old.

Background: The 8th Army was activated in Memphis, Tennessee in June 1944. They saw a lot of action during World War II earning the moniker The Amphibious 8th for 52 beach assaults. Each beach assault was described as a mini D Day.

The 8th Army was credited with the Leyte, Luzon, New Guinea, and Southern Philippines Campaigns. 8th Army was awarded a Philippines Presidential Unit Citation. The streamer was embroidered October 17, 1944 to July 4, 1945.
