Vtg. Hamilton Industries MCM desk lamp; beige/brown model 6137.:
The item is sold as is, as found and as you see it. The desk lamp is made in Japan for Hamilton Industries, Chicago. The lamp has an almost sliced bullet shaped bottom and has a hinged base with a heavy brown painted metal base to keep lamp supported. The bottom has a maybe silver/black plastic face dial with switch to indicate High, Off and Low. The top has a vertical chrome pole that has a telescopic pole in segments to make longer. The top has another sliced bullet shaped light that can go up and down with a light bulb inside. It takes a 93 bulb only per label on underside. The lamp and bulb both work. Good condition with age related issues. The underside is marked Hamilton Industries with info on a silver foil sticker and two other stickers nearby that are worn in places. The lamp base has a black scuff on the top part and dirt in crevices. Areas and side light scratches. The plastic face on the bullet has a small pinched in type dent in the plastic. It has scratches, a gouge line on left side and dirt in crevices. The bullet frame has a green spot on underside; could be paint, not sure. A gouge on upper underside on the brown. The top part of brown trim has some scratches, pitting areas. The chrome pole is dirty, darkened areas and pitting on the metal. Maybe Brasso polish may do wonders for the chrome. The segments that pull the lamp up to extend wor properly but you have to pull one down at a time. The top bullet has tape residue and on the base color and a magic marker spot. May clean with right chemicals. Some pitting in the brown paint ring; may or may not clean. Scuff in plastic or so. The cord is ok, dirty in crevices. Light surface wear mainly in beige areas. In the crevice on backside of top bullet where plastic meets chrome, a few white fragment pieces stick out; not sure why. Measures 4" X 9 7/8" X 4.5" when not extended. 4" X 14.5" X 4.5" when extended.
