Up for sale is a rare-to-market, mid-century Model 1322Vintage lounge chair designed by Paul McCobb for Directional in the 1950’s.This is a very comfortable classy chair with original wood frame, tapered legs,and curved back. It was professionally reupholstered in 2011 by BegleyUpholstering in Columbus, OH.
The chair is in good condition, consistent with its ageand use. It is structurally sound with some blemishes to the wood as pictured,including scratches to legs with age appropriate dings. No looseness or wobbling.
McCobb was arguably responsible for the introduction ofmodern design into middle-class American households, and his mid-century modernwork has unmatched warmth and presence. Paul McCobb designs are the pin-stripedsuit, or the little black dress, of a décor: an essential.
