This item up for sale is for a cast iron lid and only a cast iron lid. This lid is a clean used vintage slant logo Griswold #9 cast iron #2552 lid. I am selling the lid and only the lid. This is a nice cast iron piece for display or everyday use that was made in the USA by Griswold in Erie Pennsylvania.

This is an estate find that I have cleaned and seasoned with Crisco vegetable lard. The light seasoning of this skillet may have given the lid an off coloring and so will need more seasoning to give it that dark black look that we all love which I will leave to the new owners.

This skillet is marked on the handle with the number 3 and on the bottom/under side with the number 9, the slant Griswold logo, ERIE 2552.

When I put the lid on plate glass I can feel a little warp/wobble that a folded over business card takes away so if you find a warp/wobble it will be small.

My ruler tells me that the lid measures approximately 11-1/4 inches from outside edge to outside edge. The rim measure approximately 10-1/2 inches from outside edge to outside edge. Inside of the rim measure approximately 10-1/4 inches from inside edge to inside edge. Weight before packing out is a hair over 3 pounds 13 oz.
