WHAT YOU GET ....!! Here is a good steel body padlock lock with a brass shackle and brass pins on the body, from the
Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railway
(CCC&StL, or \"Big Four\") It was made by FRAIM - it has the name E.T.FRAIM LOCK CO. / LANCASTER / PA. U.S.A. stamped down the top of the dust cover over thekeyhole in block letters, and
on the back the round FRAIM MADE IN USA logo.
CCC&STL is stamped strongly into the shackle, which is BRASS. The pins in the body are also brass, and so is the pin that holds the clevis loop (so it has not rusted! and the loop swings freely). The chain appears to be original. IMPORTANT: This lock WORKS WELL. The internal spring is fine - the dustcover resists being pushed aside and when released it snaps back hard on its own over thekeyhole. The only \"issue\" is some light pitting on the surface, which does not affect its working ability. There are NO rust or metal problems. There is light scuzz and crud here and there on the surface from use. (We do not clean our metal items!)THE BRASS ATTACHMENT is a bit worn at the end and a bit thin from age/use but it is NOT SPLIT. The stamping shows a lot of \"FINGER POLISH\" but the circa early 1900s A&W CO. CHICAGO oval logo is perfectly legible on the back.We DO NOT clean or polish our metal items!!
